Vanderlyn Vikings are THINKING PINK!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Counseling Department is asking faculty, staff members, and students to wear pink on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. Each year in the United States, more than 200,000 women get breast cancer, and more than 40,000 women die from the disease.
Let’s Think Pink.
Together against bullying – united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
Thursday, October 20, 2022
When students, parents, educators, and community members unite, it means one less student being bullied, one more person speaking out, or another young person knowing they are not alone. Show your true colors when it comes to bullying! If you care about safe and supportive schools and communities, make your color ORANGE on Unity Day. That’s the day everyone can come together and send one large ORANGE message of support, hope, and unity to show that we are together against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
Wear ORANGE to school
-- Shirt, tie, hat, wristband, socks, or shoelaces
Play “You Can't Take That Away from Me”
-- 2016 American Idol Tristan McIntosh.
By joining together and wearing ORANGE on Unity Day, we can send the unified message that we care about students' physical and emotional health and that bullying will no longer be accepted in this society.”
