Fencing Camp for Rising 6th Graders!
Take part in the DHS Wildcats Fencing Club’s summer camp at Dunwoody High School from 9-1, June 3-6. This is a wonderful introduction to fencing for rising 6th through 12 graders, and while no experience is necessary, the camp is also a great opportunity for experienced fencers to improve technique. The cost is $200 and includes a camp t-shirt. All equipment is provided for use during camp and coaching is provided by Dr. Kathy Vail, Head Coach, Dunwoody Fencing Club. Online registration and more information available at www.dhsfencing.org or email email@example.com.
Take it to Make It Pedestrian Flag Project
Dunwoody Girl Scout Anna Wilkinson has installed ‘Take it to Make It’ pedestrian safety flags at three locations around the Dunwoody High/Vanderlyn area as part of her Gold Award project. These locations are: Vanderlyn Drive and Hensley Drive, Vanderlyn Drive and Vermack Road, and Vermack Road and Womack Road.
At every location there is a bucket on each side of the crossing holding two bright orange flags. When crossing, pedestrians take a flag to signal their intent to cross and hold it while crossing to improve visibility. Upon reaching the other side of the intersection, pedestrians return the flag to the bucket on that side.
This project aims to improve pedestrian safety and security, particularly that of young Vanderlyn students during the school year. For any questions about the project, Anna can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via text at 770-713-4498.
New Family Tours
Our PTO offers a school tour once a month to potential Vanderlyn families. We hope you will join us to learn more about our award winning elementary school.
