New Soccer Goals!
We are excited to share that the PTO has purchased soccer goals! Kudos to the Vanderlyn third graders who wrote the sweetest letter to Mrs. Crenshaw requesting them! We can't wait to hear how much fun it is to play soccer during recess!
Viking families, this would not be possible without your generosity and support of PTO fundraising efforts.
Annual Fund: Corporate Matching and Tax Deduction
Every Student Counts. Every Gift Matters.
We are so lucky to have a community that supports one another and works together for the betterment of our school for all of our children. This is truly unique and it makes all of us proud to be a Viking. There is not a more fitting time than now to say thank you to all the families that have contributed to the Annual Fund so far this year. We are well on our way to reaching our goal of $60,000 and 100% participation, but we are not there yet! If you have not yet donated or you would like to add to your contribution, click here to make a donation.
Did you know many corporations have matching gift programs for their employees, retirees, and board members? In some cases, these companies will double or even triple the portion of a donation that is tax deductible. Please contact your employer to determine if they will match your financial gift and to learn about the guidelines for obtaining matching funds for Vanderlyn. The Vanderlyn PTO will assist you in providing the details necessary for completing the matching gift paperwork.
Did you know that your donation is also tax deductible? Our Vanderlyn Elementary PTO is classified as a public charity and has been granted 501©(3) non-profit status. Our tax ID number is 46-5137968. 100% of your donation is tax-deductible as provided by law. No goods, gifts or services of any value will be received in connection with your donation. Just one more reason to help your community school by donating to the Annual Fund!
Email us at email@example.com if you have any questions!
Vanderlyn's Book Fair is OPEN!

Vanderlyn's book fair runs until October 31. Fair proceeds will be used to purchase books for the Vanderlyn library and magazines for the classrooms.
Don't forget - take the CMP Survey!
DCSD is hosting virtual, regional town hall meetings to present the Comprehensive Master Plan (CMP) Options and Recommendations. Region 1 will host a virtual Town Hall meeting on October 26th.
Please complete the **NEW CMP Stakeholder Feedback Survey** to provide input on the options presented at the October Town Hall meetings and on the CMP process.

School photos have been loaded to the Legacy website! Your student’s unique QR code should have been sent home by now. If you have not received your child’s QR code, carefully check the bottom of their book bag. It is a strip of paper, not a full sheet. If you still cannot locate your child’s QR code, please contact Emily Lane and Jennifer Benator at firstname.lastname@example.org
Picture retakes are scheduled for the morning of Friday, October 29.
See Mrs. Crenshaw's Principal's Post, Volume 10, for important updates and reminders, including:

Annual Fund Update!
Your support of our PTO and the school’s Annual Fund are how we are able to fund all of the wonderful programs our school offers (STEM projects, academic competitions, classroom stipends, teacher appreciation, the list goes on and on!). If you have not already done so, please consider donating to the 2021-22 Annual Fund by clicking HERE.
So far, we have over $36,000 in donations for this school year, but we are still short of our goal! Remember, 100% of your donation will be used to enhance the educational experience of EVERY student and faculty member at Vanderlyn Elementary. All donations, large and small, DO make a difference.
Help us reach our goal of 100% family participation. Be a Viking Champion and DONATE today!
Every family that donates to the Annual Fund receives a magnet! The 2021-22 magnets have been ordered, but due to Covid delays they have not come in. Magnets will be distributed via homerooms once they have arrived.
You can stay connected to our PTO by visiting our website, vanderlypto.org, follow us on Facebook or Instagram, and subscribing to Viking Views and the School Calendar. Log into your MTK account, click on My Account, Calendar/Newsletter Subscriptions.
THANK YOU for your donations and support and GO VIKINGS!
