Mrs. Crenshaw is Region 1 Principal of the Year!
Together with the administration and staff of Vanderlyn Elementary School, the PTO is proud to announce that our principal, Mrs. Tracey Crenshaw, has been named Region 1 Principal of the Year by the DeKalb County School District. Region 1 consists of twenty-three high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools in the district.
For the past ten years, the Vanderlyn community has continually thrived under the leadership of Mrs. Crenshaw during her tenure as assistant principal and principal. Congratulations to Mrs. Crenshaw for this well-deserved honor!

What is the role of the Principal Advisory Council?
* Act as a link between the school and the community
* Encourage the engagement of parents and other stakeholders within the school community
* Work to increase student achievement through transparent operations and shared best practices
* Review the Continuous School Improvement Plan and monitor progress toward goals
* Participate in the selection of the school principal
